Catalina Orart won our hearts with one of her works at the 86th Autumn Salon of 2019, when she won the «Tritoma Cultural Management Award», presenting a suggestive and creative motivation in which the urban landscape is the protagonist.
It is a reflection of landscaping in a composition exercise in which both the drawing and the atmosphere create contrasts and metaphors in a completely magical and evocative atmosphere.
The evanescent environment that permeates everything, achieves an impact in which the half-outlined motifs acquire essential prominence and at the same time blur, like a true mirage in which light is the magic of the work and the strength of the panoramic view.
It is the delicate form and the detail that make his works an exquisite representation of the inhospitable toxicity of the city, transforming it into a soft landscape in which it seems that even the asphalt is wrapped in a delicate and evocative transparency, where subtlety damper the sad and monochromatic smut of the city.
The power of the image thus transfigured becomes a striking claim for a refreshing visual change, in which the taste for delicacy hits the mark with the framing, presents the right play of light and shadow, and the perspective achieves the ultimate forms in which the colors draw landscapes of fragile figurations.
The blurred atmosphere of magical landscapes envelops everything, shapes, filters and changes it in works full of suggestions and evocations that are barely glimpsed and allow the imagination to complete them to discover them and subtly fall in love with them.
